Job summary

InvestEngine, a London-based fintech, is seeking a Middle Backend Developer to join its Backoffice team. You will build backend services, contribute to architecture, and collaborate with Product and Compliance to create scalable solutions.

You’ll work with Python 3.11, Django, MySQL, Redis, and REST APIs, helping reduce tech debt and own tasks end-to-end in a remote-friendly environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3+ years in backend development.
• Strong Python skills with Django or similar frameworks.
• Good understanding of relational databases and caching.
• Experience with REST APIs and service development.
• Ability to own tasks and work independently.
• Familiar with Git and modern CI/CD workflows.
• Proficient English (B2+) and fluent Russian.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services in Python 3.11 using Django/DRF.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decisions.
• Work with MySQL and Redis to build reliable systems.
• Build and improve RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations.
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with Product, Compliance, and Business teams to automate back office processes.
• Investigate and resolve production issues and reduce tech debt.
• Follow Git workflows and CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity, GitHub Actions).
• Contribute to architecture and internal tooling improvements.
