Ramp's Dev API team builds the programmatic surfaces that let developers and AI agents read from and write to Ramp. We are an AI-focused platform team making it trivially easy for any engineer at Ramp (or outside it) to ship new capabilities across all surfaces.

Our ideal candidate thinks agent-first, has strong opinions on developer experience, and wants to define how software interacts with financial infrastructure at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience
• Experience building APIs or developer-facing platforms
• Strong instinct for developer experience — good docs, good errors, good onboarding
• Strong ownership delivering technical and business outcomes in a fast-paced environment
• Hands-on daily use of AI coding agents as the primary development driver

Responsibilities

• Build and operate Ramp's multi-surface platform with high reliability, correctness, and DX across thousands of businesses
• Serve thousands of builders and partners using our API, driving Ramp’s revenue
• Build software factories — autonomous tooling and agents that accelerate endpoint creation
• Lead design and execution of complex backend projects end-to-end (architecture, implementation, rollout, monitoring) in Python, Temporal, and Postgres
• Own user experience and platform robustness end-to-end — improve API quality and reliability
