Job summary

Affirm is a remote-first company hiring a Batch Developer Experience engineer. You’ll help build tooling and systems to streamline batch workflows, partnering with product and infra teams to improve reliability and testability of critical batch workloads.

You’ll break down work, collaborate across teams, and contribute to a culture of growth and ownership while supporting on-call duties and metrics-driven improvements. The role is remote-first with nationwide availability in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years as software engineer.
• Backend design, development and launch experience in Python or Kotlin.
• Experience with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
• Ability to write clear, well-tested, extensible code.
• Strong collaboration and code-review skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Break down projects into tasks, deliver in phases and collaborate to ensure timely delivery.
• Collaborate with product, design & analytics; articulate constraints and trade-offs.
• Support operations; monitor metrics and participate in on-call efforts."
• Contribute to team growth and participate in interview processes.
