Job summary

The Home Depot is seeking a Software Engineer II in Texas to collaborate with product teams to design and deliver secure, scalable backend services. You will work on microservices, APIs, and cloud deployments, while enhancing observability and automation across production environments.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years of Java/Spring Boot experience, familiarity with Kubernetes and CI/CD, and exposure to AI/ML integrations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in software development using Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience designing and supporting microservices in production.
• Hands-on work with AI/ML integrations, LLM APIs, or automation tools.
• Experience deploying in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environments.
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes for deployment, monitoring, and ops support.
• Experience implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with modern DevOps practices.
• Proficiency with Git-based source control and collaborative workflows.
• Experience using Jira and Agile practices, including sprint planning and delivery.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, system integrations, and event-driven patterns.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, performance optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Exposure to frontend technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript) to collaborate across the lifecycle.
• Strong focus on best practices: automated testing, code reviews, secure coding, observability, and performance monitoring.
• Ability to analyze complex problems and drive work to completion with minimal oversight.
• Proven communication skills with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders.
• Strong collaboration and mentoring capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Create dashboards, logging, alerting, and proactive issue handling in production.
