Stronghold Investment Management is seeking a Software Engineer I to join its Tech Development team in Dallas, TX. You will work on backend systems, APIs, and data infrastructure within a Ruby on Rails stack, contributing to speed and reliability in a data-driven investment context.

You’ll gain hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Redis, and Microsoft Azure while collaborating with senior engineers, data teams, and product managers to ship robust backend services.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years backend experience in professional, internship, or project setting.
• Ruby on Rails experience through work, internships, coursework, or meaningful projects.
• Solid CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OOP, and modern software practices.
• Hands-on SQL experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL or SQL Server).
• Exposure to Redis, Elasticsearch, or MongoDB and interest in learning data stores.
• Familiarity with APIs and Git as day-one essentials.

Responsabilidades

• Build backend systems, APIs, and data workflows in a Ruby on Rails environment.
• Learn the stack by actively building across Rails, PostgreSQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, Kafka, and Azure.
• Ensure data integrity and accessibility across systems used by investment teams.
• Deliver clean, maintainable, well-tested code and participate in reviews.
• Help design and optimize database schemas, queries, and data workflows.
• Contribute to integrations between internal systems and third-party APIs.
• Develop event-driven workflows using Kafka and asynchronous processing.
• Automate data ingestion, validation, and transformation tasks.
• Build and maintain cloud-based applications in Microsoft Azure.
• Collaborate in code reviews, design sessions, and Agile ceremonies.
• Troubleshoot performance, data discrepancies, and system failures.
• Maintain visibility via monitoring, logging, and alerting for rapid issue resolution.
• Support reliable deployments through CI/CD and cross-team collaboration.
