Job summary

Affirm is a remote‑first company seeking a Software Engineer I, Backend for Collections. You will join the Collections team to design, build, and scale backend services that help recover delinquent loans while maintaining high availability and reliability across the platform.

You will work with Python or Kotlin in a distributed environment using AWS, MySQL and Kubernetes, taking ownership of code quality, reviews, and collaboration with product and risk teams.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and launching backend systems at scale.
• Proficient in Python or Kotlin.
• Familiar with distributed systems and AWS.
• Strong debug and code-review skills.
