Job summary

The Building People, LLC seeks a Back Shop Lead to manage fabrication and machine shop operations in support of AFRL RX facilities and laboratories. You will oversee daily shop activities, tool control, equipment maintenance, and technician scheduling while ensuring safety and quality.

Minimum of 5 years in managing a DoD back shop and 5 years in machine shop work, with the ability to obtain NACI or Tier 1 background clearance; candidate should hold forklift or scissor lift certification if

• 5+ years of experience managing a Facilities Back Shop in a DoD facility.
• At least 5 years of Machine Shop experience.
• Certifications & Screening Ability to obtain a favorable NACI or Tier 1 background investigation and CAC.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily Back Shop operations, including tool control, equipment maintenance, and technician scheduling.
• Coordinate fabrication, machining, and repair work across skilled trades supporting RX facility and laboratory needs.
• Maintain accountability for shop tools, equipment, and materials.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience managing a Facilities Back Shop environment in a DoD facility.
• At least 5 years of Machine Shop experience.
• Certifications & Screening Ability to obtain a favorable NACI or Tier 1 background investigation and CAC.

Preferred Qualifications

• Forklift and/or scissor lift operator certification.

*Salary offered will be commensurate with the candidate's experience, qualifications, and certifications.
