Job summary

IMS Care Centers in Buckeye, AZ, is seeking a professional and compassionate Medical Assistant to support our Primary Care Clinic. The MA will assist patients and their families before, during, and after visits, collaborating with physicians, nurses and staff to keep the clinic running smoothly.

Ideal candidates have 1–3 years of MA experience, excellent communication, and familiarity with EMR scheduling software (Athena).

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Excellent communication skills—both written and verbal.
• Experience with office medical procedures, insurance, and EMR scheduling software.
• Must follow HIPAA guidelines and protect PHI.
• Ability to manage multiple changing priorities in an organized fashion.
• EMR (Athena) experience is a plus.
• Must have back-office MA experience.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and take vitals; review patient history.
• Prepare and clean room; get patient ready for physician encounter.
• Perform office-based testing and treatments under clinician supervision.
• Coordinate pre-certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions and scheduling.
• Provide clerical support and maintain medical records; assist billing with encounter data.
• Communicate with front office to aid patient flow; prioritize clinic processes.
