Lowe’s Companies, Inc. is seeking a Back-End Clerk to support returns processing, RTV/RTM execution, and receiving operations in a retail setting.

The role involves coordinating with vendors, updating inventory records, and ensuring proper handling of merchandise through the backroom and return areas. The position requires attention to detail, experience with merchandise receiving, and the ability to work with store teams to maintain product flow.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1 year of experience processing and filing merchandise receiving paperwork.
• 1 year of experience with store inventory receiving and administration.
• 6 months of experience in warehouse data entry.
• 6 months of experience communicating with vendors or customers regarding returns, payments, or contract fulfillment.
• 6 months of retail experience accepting or processing returns.

Responsibilities

• Process customer returns per policy and procedure.
• Execute RTV/RTM processes with documentation, packing, and shipment prep.
• Coordinate vendor credits and replacements per guidelines.
• Sort and disposition returned merchandise by condition and policy.
• Maintain records of all return transactions and related docs.
• Assist receiving shipments including unloading trucks and verifying against docs.
• Process receiving paperwork and update inventory systems accurately.
• Ensure proper labeling, storage, and routing to correct locations.
• Support inventory accuracy through routine checks and report discrepancies.
• Generate/review standard reports on returns, damaged goods, and inventory exceptions.
• Coordinate with receiving/store teams for efficient product flow.
• Maintain organized backroom and return areas.
• Follow safety procedures for material handling and hazardous materials.
• Identify and handle hazardous or restricted items per guidelines.
• Maintain clean, organized and safe work environment.
• Provide basic support for customer return inquiries.
• Communicate with vendors/manufacturers to facilitate returns/credits/replacements.
• Back-End Clerk supports Receiving Office operations: record retention, inbound/outbound truck schedules, and daily/weekly reports.
• May be assigned other duties as needed.
