Job summary

Lowe's Stores is seeking a Back-End Clerk to handle customer returns, RTV/RTM processing, and inventory tasks in a fast-paced receiving office environment. You will support truck schedules, record retention, and daily/weekly operation reports while helping with PO processing and repairs.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and cross-team collaboration. The position involves handling returned merchandise, maintaining backroom organization, and providing basic customer return assistance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience processing and filing merchandise receiving paperwork.
• 1 year of experience with store inventory receiving and administration.
• 6 months of experience in warehouse data entry/bookkeeping.
• 6 months of experience communicating with vendors or customers regarding returns, payments, or contract fulfillment.
• 6 months of retail experience accepting or processing returns.

Responsibilities

• Process customer returns per company policies.
• Execute RTV/RTM processes, including documentation and packaging.
• Coordinate vendor credits and replacements.
• Sort and disposition returned merchandise based on condition.
• Maintain records of all return transactions and documentation.
• Assist with receiving shipments and verify merchandise against docs.
• Process receiving paperwork and update inventory systems.
• Label, store, and route merchandise to correct locations.
• Support inventory accuracy with routine checks and reporting.
• Generate/ review reports on returns, damaged goods, and inventory exceptions.
• Coordinate with receiving and store teams for product flow.
• Maintain organization of backroom and return areas.
• Follow safety procedures for handling hazardous materials and equipment.
• Identify hazardous or restricted items per guidelines.
• Keep a clean, organized, safe work environment.
• Provide basic support for customer return inquiries.
• Communicate with vendors to facilitate returns, credits, or replacements.
• Back-End Clerk supports Receiving Office tasks: record retention, truck schedules, operational reports.
• Manage items out for repair, handle claims and inventory adjustments.
• Support receiver/stocker teams with PO processing.
• Other duties as assigned.
