We’re looking for a Senior Backend Developer (Node.js) to join our client's remote team and lead the development of modern, scalable backend systems.

What you’ll be working on

As a Senior Backend Developer, you will:

Build and maintain scalable APIs using Node.js, Express, and TypeScript

Work with Google Cloud Functions and Apigee in a serverless environment

Collaborate closely with frontend teams (React) and integrate APIs effectively

Design and optimize relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Firestore)

Lead backend architecture decisions and mentor junior engineers

Ensure code quality, security, and performance best practices

Support CI/CD processes and participate in Agile SCRUM rituals

Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

Use tools like Git, Jira, and Figma in daily workflows

Must-Haves

6+ years of backend development experience

Production-level experience with Google Cloud Functions and Apigee

Solid understanding of REST/GraphQL APIs and backend optimization

Experience with PostgreSQL, Firestore, or similar

Experience with Git, Jira, CI/CD, and SCRUM

Familiarity with security best practices (OAuth, RBAC, data protection)

Understanding of Figma, design patterns and user experience

Strong internal and external communication

Nice-to-Haves

Experience with client-facing roles
