Baby-Friendly USA, Inc. seeks an Assessor to conduct hospital birthing facility assessments for Baby-Friendly Designation and Re-Designation. The role combines in-person visits with virtual assessments and requires data collection through interviews, observations, and materials review.

The ideal candidate has an RN license and lactation credentials, with IBCLC preferred and CERPS evidence. Willingness to travel frequently and work across multiple time zones is essential.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure with 5+ years in a hospital/birthing center maternity unit.
• Completion of a 45-hour breastfeeding management course is required; IBCLC preferred, CLC accepted.
• Lactation certifications must be current or evidenced by CERPS within 5 years.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license, clean driving record and proof of insurance may be requested.
• HIPAA/PHI and confidentiality policies must be followed.
• Ability to travel frequently and work in varied settings.

Responsibilities

• Travel to birthing facilities across the U.S. to conduct assessments.
• Perform on-site and virtual assessments per BFUSA protocols.
• Interview administrators, clinicians, staff, and mothers; review materials; document observations.
• Complete pre- and post-assessment requirements and submit documentation on time.
• Maintain an up-to-date availability calendar and conduct monthly assessor calls.
• Coordinate with co-Assessor and Assessment Coordinator; comply with travel policies.
