Job summary

American Electric in Hawaii is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to grow our preventive-maintenance services for commercial and industrial customers on Oahu and Maui. You will develop new business, build lasting relationships with facility managers and senior leaders, and drive revenue through proactive solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven success in B2B outside sales or business development.
• Strong prospecting, cold-calling, consultative-selling, and closing skills.
• Ability to communicate confidently with customer contacts, including senior management.
• Excellent presentation, follow-up, organization, and relationship-building skills.
• Self-motivation and the ability to work independently while managing a sales territory.
• Technical or mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn commercial electrical services.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Prospect for and develop new commercial and industrial accounts throughout Oahu.
• Build relationships with facility managers, engineers, property managers, business owners, and senior leaders.
• Qualify opportunities, conduct customer meetings, and deliver effective sales presentations.
• Prepare proposals and close preventive-maintenance service agreements.
• Manage the sales pipeline and consistently follow up on opportunities.
• Collaborate with technical and operations teams to deliver responsive customer service.
• Develop a working knowledge of electrical-distribution systems, testing, and preventive-maintenance solutions.
