Job description

Ripley PR is an award-winning global public relations agency specializing in skilled trades, franchising and B2B technology. Founded in 2013, Ripley PR has been recognized by Forbes and Newsweek as one of America’s Best PR Agencies and was named 2025 PR Agency of the Year by the Merit Awards.

Our divisions include Orange Orchard, which represents animal welfare nonprofit organizations, and Adventure PR, which serves the adventure travel, tourism and RV industries.

Across our agencies, we represent clients throughout the U.S. and around the world, telling stories that get them noticed and deliver measurable results.

The Role

Ripley PR is looking for a B2B Media Relations Coordinator who is passionate about public relations and eager to build a career in earned media.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone early in their PR or communications career who is curious about business, technology and the industries that keep our economy moving.

You’ll work with clients in industries such as B2B technology and SaaS, construction technology, manufacturing, skilled trades and other business-to-business sectors. Working alongside experienced members of our team, you’ll learn how to understand complex industries, uncover compelling stories and successfully pitch them to trade, business and national media.

We’re looking for someone who is curious, confident, persistent and willing to pick up the phone. You don’t need to be an expert in our clients’ industries on day one, but you do need to enjoy learning how businesses work and turning that knowledge into stories journalists want to tell.

What You’ll Do
  • Research reporters, editors, producers, podcast hosts and other relevant media contacts.
  • Build and maintain targeted media lists for B2B, trade and business media.
  • Pitch story ideas, company news and client experts to media by phone and email.
  • Help identify timely, creative and newsworthy story opportunities for clients.
  • Monitor industry trends, breaking news and business developments for opportunities.
  • Learn our clients’ industries, technologies, products and competitive landscapes.
  • Develop relationships with journalists and other media professionals.
  • Assist with writing media pitches, press releases and other PR materials.
  • Follow up with media contacts and help coordinate interviews.
  • Prepare background information and briefing materials for client interviews.
  • Participate in client meetings and media relations brainstorms.
  • Collaborate with brand managers, writers and senior media relations team members.
  • Track media outreach, coverage, results and upcoming opportunities.
  • Stay current on business news, media trends and the industries our clients serve.
  • Manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced agency environment.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, journalism, marketing or a related field preferred.
  • Internship or entry-level experience in PR, journalism, communications, marketing or a related field is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence communicating with new people by phone and email.
  • An interest in business, technology and how companies and industries work.
  • Ability to research and quickly learn unfamiliar or complex topics.
  • Strong writing, grammar and attention to detail.
  • Curiosity and an interest in news, media and storytelling.
  • Persistence and resilience. An unanswered email or a “no” doesn’t stop you from trying another approach.
  • Willingness to learn how to pitch and sell a story effectively.
  • Good judgment and the ability to learn what makes a story newsworthy.
  • Strong research and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A positive, collaborative attitude and willingness to receive feedback and grow.

Experience or interest in B2B technology, SaaS, construction, manufacturing, skilled trades or other technical industries is a plus, but not required.
