Job summary

Deckers is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to perform skilled maintenance and repair across buildings, conveyors, electrical systems, and heavy industrial equipment, including AC/DC controls and PLCs up to 480V. This role includes preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor project management.

You will train lower-grade staff, develop productive relationships, and use CMMS data to monitor performance, while ensuring safety and adherence to procedures.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree preferred; 6–8 years industrial maintenance experience
  • Experience with conveyors, controls, and operating systems
  • Ability to read technical manuals and schematics
  • Experience with high/low voltage and AC/DC motors

Job description

Shift: Fri - Sun 6:00am to 6:30pm

GENERAL NATURE OF POSITION:

The Maintenance Supervisor performs a variety of skilled and semi-skilled maintenance, modification, and repair activities in assigned maintenance operational areas which may include buildings, conveyors, electrical and performs related work as required. The job will entail preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of heavy industrial manufacturing equipment and facilities. This position will be working with AC/DC controls, PLC controlled equipment, pneumatics and with voltage of up to 480 volts. Manage minor projects. Provide training to lower grade levels.

Develop and maintain productive, effective, and professional relationships with peers, superiors, and others. Always represent the company in a positive and supportive manner. Troubleshoot and repair controls, process controllers, control cabinets, power supplies and all other field devices associated with the conveyor system.

Use system software to troubleshoot, trend and monitor conveyor equipment. Develop and implement innovative ideas to increase productivity and/or reliability. Enter data in the computerized maintenance management system. Perform minor electrical work such as running conduit and pulling wire. Perform analytical tests on the various conveyor systems and document results.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Under minimal supervision perform skilled and semi-skilled facility maintenance activities including patching and painting walls, patching floors, replacing lights, repair racking, office furniture moves, and setups and other facilities related tasks. 20%

Under minimal supervision perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities to include troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on conveyor equipment. 20%

Document all work order activities including labor, parts and inventory used and closing of work orders to provide documented records of the maintenance performed.

20% Follow lockout-tag out procedures, confined space procedures and other safety and environmental procedures and policies as required.

20% Complete pass down logs to inform co-workers of the operational status of the facilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required qualifications needed in order to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities of this position.

JOB DESCRIPTION - Education/Certifications: Associates Degree preferred Work Experience: 6-8 years industrial maintenance experience with conveyors, controls, and operating systems of a medium to large distribution center or manufacturing operation. Experience working around pneumatics, AC/DC motor skills and industrial electrical systems

Skills/Competencies: SPECIAL SKILLS/REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints - Knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Ability to work with high and low voltage, AC and DC
  • Proven track record of strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting - Knowledge of Automatic Identification systems (Laser Scanning Devices)
  • . - Experience working effectively under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities
  • Regarded as a system expert in at least one area (i.e. Pick Module, VAS, Shipping Sorter) - Highly motivated, a team player and a self-starter - Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with co-workers and managers in a cooperative constructive manner
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to positively influence others - Strong project planning and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to expedite several projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of OSHA compliance is a plus
  • Conversational Spanish skills a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets - Experience in using Microsoft Outlook and Word programs
