Shift

2nd Shift Mon - Fri 2:00pm to 10:00pm

Responsibilities
  • Perform skilled and semi‑skilled facility maintenance activities including patching and painting walls, patching floors, replacing lights, repairing racking, moving and setting up office furniture, and other facilities‑related tasks.
  • Perform skilled and semi‑skilled maintenance activities to include troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance on conveyor equipment.
  • Document all work order activities, including labor, parts and inventory used, and close work orders to provide documented records of the maintenance performed.
  • Follow lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, confined‑space procedures and other safety and environmental procedures and policies as required.
  • Complete pass‑down logs to inform co‑workers of the operational status of the facilities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair controls, process controllers, control cabinets, power supplies and all other field devices associated with the conveyor system.
  • Use system software to troubleshoot, trend and monitor conveyor equipment.
  • Develop and implement innovative ideas to increase productivity and/or reliability.
  • Enter data in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Perform minor electrical work such as running conduit and pulling wire.
  • Perform analytical tests on the various conveyor systems and document results.
Required Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma.
  • 4–6 years industrial maintenance experience with conveyors, controls and operating systems of a medium to large distribution center or manufacturing operation.
  • Experience working around pneumatics, AC/DC motor skills and industrial electrical systems.
Required Competencies
  • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, schematics and blueprints.
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings.
  • Ability to work with high and low voltage, AC and DC.
  • Proven track record of strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of Automatic Identification systems (Laser Scanning Devices).
  • Experience working effectively under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Regarded as a system expert in at least one area (i.e. Pick Module, VAS, Shipping Sorter).
  • Highly motivated, a team player and a self‑starter.
  • Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with co‑workers and managers in a cooperative constructive manner.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to positively influence others.
  • Strong project planning and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to expedite several projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of OSHA compliance is a plus.
  • Conversational Spanish skills a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
  • Experience in using Microsoft Outlook and Word programs.
  • Multi‑task in a fast‑paced work environment that has a strong customer focus.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Fork Lift Certification.
Physical Demands

The employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; walk, bend, pull, push and occasionally squat, kneel, and climb. The employee must regularly lift, carry and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee will frequently be required to walk, stand, bend, pull, push and occasionally squat, kneel, and climb. Specific vision abilities included: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary

$26.30 – $29.62. Salary range reflects the estimated minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in US – IN US8 Midwest Distribution Center. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
