Job summary

Deckers Outdoor Corporation is seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician for a weekend shift at our Midwest Distribution Center. You will perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot conveyors, electrical systems, and perform repairs to ensure continuous operations.

Requires 4-6 years industrial maintenance experience, High School Diploma, forklift certification, and ability to read schematics. This on-site role offers hands-on work in a fast-paced distribution environment with safety

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required.
  • 4–6 years industrial maintenance experience with conveyors and controls.
  • Experience with pneumatics and AC/DC motors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform skilled and semi-skilled facility maintenance including patching and painting walls and lights.
  • Troubleshoot and repair conveyor equipment and controls.
  • Document work orders, parts, and labor with PM records.
  • Follow safety procedures including lockout-tagout and confined space.
  • Enter data in the CMMS and perform minor electrical work.

Weekend Shift

Friday-Sunday 6:00AM-6:30PM

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES & FUNCTIONS: (Important: both Essential and Marginal functions must equal 100%)
Average % of Time Essential/Marginal Functions DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • M Under minimal supervision perform skilled and semi-skilled facility maintenance activities including patching and painting walls, patching floors, replacing lights, repair racking, office furniture moves and setups and other facilities related tasks.
  • E Under minimal supervision perform skilled and semi-skilled maintenance activities to include troubleshooting, repair and preventive maintenance on conveyor equipment.
  • 5% E Document all work order activities including labor, parts and inventory used and closing of work orders to provide documented records of the maintenance performed.
  • 5% E Follow lockout-tag out procedures, confined space procedures and other safety and environmental procedures and policies as required.
  • 5% M Complete pass down logs to inform co-workers of the operational status of the facilities.
  • 5% E Troubleshoot and repair controls, process controllers, control cabinets, power supplies and all other field devices associated with the conveyor system.
  • 5% E Use system software to troubleshoot, trend and monitor conveyor equipment.
  • Develop and implement innovative ideas to increase productivity and/or reliability.
  • Enter data in the computerized maintenance management system.
  • Perform minor electrical work such as running conduit and pulling wire.
  • Perform analytical tests on the various conveyor systems and document results.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience

High School Diploma

  • 4-6 years industrial maintenance experience with conveyors, controls and operating systems of a medium to large distribution center or manufacturing operation.
  • Experience working around pneumatics, AC/DC motor skills and industrial electrical systems

  • Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals, schematics and blueprints
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Ability to work with high and low voltage, AC and DC
  • Proven track record of strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of Automatic Identification systems (Laser Scanning Devices).
  • Experience working effectively under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities
  • Regarded as a system expert in at least one area (i.e. Pick Module, VAS, Shipping Sorter)
  • Highly motivated, a team player and a self-starter
  • Work as a team member by interacting and communicating with co-workers and managers in a cooperative constructive manner
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to positively influence others
  • Strong project planning and project management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to expedite several projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of OSHA compliance is a plus
  • Conversational Spanish skills a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel spreadsheets
  • Experience in using Microsoft Outlook and Word programs
  • Multi-task in a fast paced work environment that has a strong customer focus

$26.30 - $29.62

The salary range posted reflects the estimated minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in: US - IN US8 Midwest Distribution Center
