Job summary

A leading aerospace training firm is looking for a part-time B-1 Instructor SME/CRM in Abilene, Texas, to deliver classroom instruction and develop specific courseware. Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in aviation or a related field, with significant flying experience on the B-1 aircraft. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. This position involves teaching and developing training plans, along with the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance. Flexibility to travel is required for CRM training sessions.

Qualifications

• Must have flying experience within the past ten years and a minimum of 500 flying hours in the B-1 aircraft.
• Instructor experience and 1,000 hours in the B-1 aircraft preferred.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.
• General Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, detail oriented, flexible in work assignments, work with little to no supervision, and enthusiastic.

Responsibilities

• Serve as SME for the B-1 aircraft, providing technical content for courseware.
• Conduct academic CRM instruction.
• Review operation-related publications for updates.
• Monitor Stan Eval trends and initiate revisions in courseware to address customer trends.
• Monitor courseware currency (FTU, Continuation Training, Instructor) in assigned academic areas of responsibility.
• Develop courseware/monitor courseware currency for the B-1 aircraft and assigned areas of responsibility.
• Provide content input for all lesson revisions for which they are the primary SME (B-1).
• Coordinate lesson revision input with other I/SMEs and the courseware development team.
• Identify areas of instruction requiring immediate attention.
• Develop annual training plans for the primary and secondary customer sites.
• Review all aircraft and operations-related publications for updated information to be incorporated into courseware.

PURPOSE OF POSITION

Deliver MilTrain/MilSupp/CTI developed courseware through instruction/facilitation in a classroom environment and develop aircraft specific CRM courseware.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor of Science /Arts degree in aviation or related field or equivalent academic experience.

Training and Experience : Must have flying experience within the past ten (10) years and a minimum of 500 flying hours in the B-1 aircraft.

Desired Experience: Instructor experience and 1,000 hours in the B-1 aircraft.

General Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, detail oriented, flexible in work assignments, work with little to no supervision, and enthusiastic. Ability to travel as required to support the B-1 at Ellsworth Air Force Base 2 times per year to provide up to 5 days of CRM instruction on each visit.

Computer Skills : Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the B-1 aircraft by providing technical content for courseware.
• Conduct academic CRM instruction.
• Conduct remedial student training when required.
• Monitor Stan Eval trends and initiate revisions in courseware to address customer trends.
• Monitor courseware currency (FTU, Continuation Training, Instructor) in assigned academic areas of responsibility.
• Develop courseware/monitor courseware currency for the B-1aircraft and assigned areas of responsibility.
• Provide content input for all lesson revisions for which they are the primary SME (B-1).
• Coordinate lesson revision input with other I/SMEs and the courseware development team.
• Identify areas of instruction requiring immediate attention.
• In coordination with the customer, develop an annual training plan for the primary customer site to which they are assigned. Develop annual training plan for secondary site in coordination with the customer.
• Review all aircraft and operations-related publications for updated information to be incorporated into courseware and training materials.
• Maintain proficiency and certification to teach as outlined in the CTI Instructor Training and Certification Plan.
• Serve as the interface between the customer and MilTrain/MilSupp/CTI.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned (e.g., business development, local meetings, CRM research, etc.).
