Job summary

Health Care Service Corporation (HCSC) is seeking an experienced IT professional to lead and optimize the Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environment. The role focuses on automation, design, and implementing scalable desktop virtualization architectures in collaboration with Virtualization Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, and Service Management teams.

You will build repeatable build-kits to speed deployments and transfer knowledge to Operations, using Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp, Nerdio for AVD,

Qualifications

Hands-on design, build, configure, operate and support Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) environments.
Experience configuring AVD components: host pools, session hosts, workspaces, application groups, desktop assignments, scaling, and user access.
Strong FSLogix knowledge: profile containers, storage integration, troubleshooting, performance.
Ability to simplify and standardize complex concepts and processes.

Responsibilities

Improve the overall VDI experience through automation and design.
Collaborate with Virtualization Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, and Infrastructure Service Management in architecture and build patterns to speed deployments.
Build repeatable build-kits for faster non-prod and prod deployments and transition knowledge to Operations.
Support and optimize Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp workloads, including migrations to Azure Virtual Desktop and Nerdio for AVD deployment.
