FINBOA in Houston is seeking a Database Administrator to ensure the performance, security, and availability of Azure SQL databases across client and internal environments.

This role involves 70% client implementations and 30% internal IT work, requiring strong Azure SQL, SQL skills, and a focus on DR and security. A full-time position with competitive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of database administration experience with SQL Server / Azure SQL.
• Strong Azure SQL skills including DTU/vCore management and tuning.
• Advanced SQL skills: queries, indexing, data migration.
• Experience in production DB environments with high availability and DR.
• Security, backup/recovery, and access control knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own provisioning, configuration, maintenance, and DR testing for client Azure SQL and on‑prem databases.
• Support client implementations, go‑lives, and migrations for database readiness.
• Maintain data warehouse infrastructure and BI data stores for clients.
• Monitor DTU/vCore, storage growth, and query performance.
• Troubleshoot production issues and collaborate with Support & Eng.
• Document client DB configurations and standards.
