Job summary

Maverick Payments in Calabasas, CA is seeking a Cloud & Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen our Azure environment and on‑prem infrastructure, improving reliability, security, and audit readiness.

You will design, deploy, and operate platform services, implement IaC with Terraform/Bicep, and collaborate on network security, monitoring, and PCI DSS compliance to support growth and high availability of production workloads.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of hands-on cloud/infrastructure engineering experience.
• Strong Azure experience across compute, networking, identity, and monitoring.
• Experience managing a M365 E5 class environment.
• Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, routing, VPN, DNS, firewalls).
• Experience implementing PAM/PIM/JIT/JEA for privileged access governance.
• Hands-on IaC experience with Terraform and/or Bicep; source-controlled workflows.
• Scripting proficiency in PowerShell and/or Python.
• Knowledge of security/compliance in regulated environments (PCI DSS, SOC 2, HIPAA).
• Strong troubleshooting and incident management mindset.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and operate Azure platform services including compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, and governance.
• Implement landing zone patterns, naming/tagging standards, and cost-optimization practices.
• Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and/or Bicep; enable CI/CD for infra changes.
• Operate and tune monitoring with Azure Monitor and Log Analytics.
• Own cloud and on-prem network design and operations (VNets, NSGs, ExpressRoute/VPN, DNS, firewalls).
• Ensure PCI DSS scope network segmentation and collaborate with Information Security.
• Maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity; participate in DR tests.
• Automate repetitive tasks using PowerShell, Python and CI/CD pipelines.
• Provide runbooks and self-service capabilities to improve operations.
