Job summary

Crescent Energy Co. in Houston seeks a seasoned Manager, Cloud Platform Engineering to lead the Azure-based platform, IaC, identity, governance, and cost optimization.

You will mentor senior engineers, set strategy, and partner with security, network, data, and OT teams to deliver a scalable, self-service developer platform. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of cloud/platform/infrastructure engineering with deep Microsoft Azure experience in enterprise environments.
• 4+ years of leading and developing engineering teams, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Lead Crescent’s Cloud Platform Engineering function for Azure infrastructure, IaC, identity, governance, reliability, and cost.
• Mentor engineers, set platform strategy and roadmap, treat the internal developer platform as a product.
• Build self-service capabilities, reusable Terraform modules, templates, and guardrails for safe Azure provisioning.
• Own design, deployment, operation, and lifecycle management of enterprise-scale Azure infrastructure and shared services.
• Lead IaC practices with Terraform, including module design and deployment workflows.
• Direct Microsoft Entra ID engineering for lifecycle, RBAC, conditional access, and hybrid identity.
• Establish Azure governance with landing zones, policy, tagging, and guardrails.
• Embed security by default, with policy-as-code and secrets management.
• Standardize CI/CD pipelines and automation for platform infrastructure; provide delivery patterns.
• Establish reliability practices with SLOs, error budgets, monitoring, and incident response.
• Mature observability using Azure Monitor and related tooling; define metrics and dashboards.
• Lead FinOps for cloud spend with tagging, budgeting, forecasting, and optimization.
• Define platform standards and documentation; maintain runbooks and audit evidence.
• Collaborate with Network Engineering on cloud networking and hybrid connectivity.
