Job summary

Wachter, Inc. in Lenexa, Kansas is seeking an Azure Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain the internal platform and self-service tooling that engineering and IT teams use to deploy and run applications across on-prem and Azure.

You will work with Windows Server and Linux hosts (on-prem Hyper-V and Azure IaaS/PaaS), run AKS clusters, implement IaC, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and security posture. Wachter values teamwork and offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Azure IaaS and PaaS experience across compute, networking, storage, and governance.
• Windows Server administration in production environments.
• Linux administration in production environments.
• Hyper-V provisioning and management in production.
• Kubernetes production operations, Helm, ingress, secrets, and AKS.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the internal platform and self-service tooling for on-prem and Azure.
• Manage provisioning of Windows Server and Linux hosts in on-prem Hyper-V and Azure IaaS/PaaS.
• Build and operate Kubernetes clusters (AKS in Azure and on-prem) including networking and workload onboarding.
• Own infrastructure-as-code with reusable modules and templates.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Implement observability with monitoring, logging, alerting, and dashboards.
• Harden the platform for security/compliance and produce audit evidence.
• Document capabilities, runbooks, and standards; support internal teams.
• Participate in on-call / incident response and post-incident improvements.
