Job summary

Leggett & Platt, located at the IDEA Center in Lenexa, Kansas, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate backend services on Microsoft Azure. You’ll balance hands-on development with cloud architecture, identity, and containerization, mentoring teammates and articulating tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of professional software development experience, including hands-on Azure.
Experience building and deploying applications on Microsoft Azure.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and operate backend services on Azure using C#/.NET and Python.
Architect cloud-native components with Azure App Service, Functions, SQL, and Storage.
Implement secure authentication with Entra ID (Azure AD) and RBAC.
Design RESTful APIs with OAuth2/OpenID Connect integration.
Build CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for multi-environment deployments.
Containerize services with Docker and deploy to AKS or Azure Container Apps.
Collaborate with cloud/infrastructure teams and mentor engineers.
Instrument apps with monitoring using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.
