Wachter, Inc. in Lenexa, KS is seeking an Azure Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain the internal platform and self‑service tooling used by engineering and IT teams to deploy applications across on‑prem and Azure.

The role requires hands‑on experience with Windows and Linux administration, Hyper‑V, Kubernetes (AKS), Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions). You will champion reliability, security, observability, and on‑call incident response while documenting

Qualifications

• Strong Azure experience across IaaS and PaaS: compute, networking, storage, governance.
• Solid Windows Server administration in production.
• Solid Linux administration in production.
• Hyper-V virtualization provisioning, management, and troubleshooting.
• Kubernetes in production: cluster operations and workload handling.
• Infrastructure‑as‑code with Terraform.
• CI/CD pipeline design with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions.
• Scripting with PowerShell, Bash, Python.
• Entra ID (Azure AD) and hybrid identity concepts.
• Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, TLS, routing, firewalls.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the internal platform and self‑service tooling for deployment and run of apps across on‑prem and Azure.
• Manage and automate provisioning of Windows Server and Linux hosts in on‑prem (Hyper‑V) and Azure IaaS/PaaS.
• Build and operate Kubernetes clusters (AKS and on‑prem) including networking, storage, ingress, and onboarding.
• Own infrastructure‑as‑code: reusable modules and templates for reproducibility and versioning.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for safe delivery.
• Implement observability: monitoring, logging, alerting, dashboards for infra and app health.
• Harden the platform for security and compliance, sustain audits with evidence/automation.
• Document platform capabilities, runbooks, and internal standards for adoption.
• Participate in on‑call / incident response and drive post‑incident improvements.
