Job summary

Enchanted Rock is seeking a software engineer to build and evolve backend services on Azure, ingesting telemetry from edge devices and streaming into cloud APIs. You will tackle intermittent connectivity, late messages, and data quality while shaping scalable time-series storage and queries.

Responsibilities include diagnosing issues end-to-end, improving dashboards for operations and manufacturing, writing tests, and contributing to design and runbooks.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency with C#/.NET and object-oriented design.
• Experience building cloud applications; Azure strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of REST APIs and relational databases, plus time-series data stores.
• Linux experience for logs and troubleshooting remotely.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD.
• Ability to analyze logs, metrics, and traces and explain findings.
• Willingness to learn fast and use AI tools to move faster.
• Based in the Greater Houston area with hybrid work in Houston office.

Responsibilities

• Build and evolve C#/.NET back-end services on Azure carrying telemetry from edge devices to cloud APIs and stores.
• Work on ingestion and processing paths resilient to intermittent connectivity and out-of-order messages.
• Shape capture and querying of large-scale time-series telemetry while keeping solutions simple.
• Diagnose issues end-to-end using logs, metrics, and traces and explain findings clearly.
• Improve internal applications, factory-floor stations, and dashboards for operations and manufacturing.
• Write automated tests and ship through CI/CD pipelines with observable production services.
• Contribute to system design and production-ready documentation for security reviews.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, data science, and engineering teams to turn signals into insights.
