Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Data Developer to own the data foundation of our enterprise telematics SaaS platform in a hands-on, high-impact role. You will design and evolve end-to-end data architecture spanning Cosmos DB, ADX, Azure SQL, and Fabric, with ingestion from IoT devices and real-time to analytic pipelines.

You will partner with backend, architecture, product, and leadership to deliver scalable, cost-optimized data solutions on Azure, ensuring reliability and cross-team

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional data engineering experience owning production data platforms.
• Deep hands-on Azure data expertise: Cosmos DB, ADX, Azure SQL, Event Hubs, Service Bus, Functions, Fabric.
• Strong SQL and KQL skills; proficient in Python/pySpark and/or Java/C#/.NET.
• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS data architecture and time-series/telemetry data models.
• Proven production SaaS data platform ownership and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end data architecture across Cosmos DB, ADX, Azure SQL, and Fabric.
• Architect Cosmos DB for high-throughput IoT workloads with partitioning, indexing, TTL, and RU tuning.
• Manage ADX ingestion, queries, retention, and materialized views for analytics.
• Design relational schemas and ETL jobs to support reporting and operational needs.
• Build data pipelines with Azure Functions, Event Hubs, and Service Bus; ensure reliability and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with backend, architecture, product and leadership to advance the data platform.
