Job summary

Agile Space Industries in Durango, CO, is seeking a Staff Software Engineer/Architect to lead the design and delivery of scalable enterprise platforms for real-time rocket engine telemetry. You will bridge sensor streams to cloud analytics, modernize legacy systems into microservices, and own cloud infrastructure using Azure and AWS.

The role requires 15+ years in software engineering with 5+ years in architecture, strong leadership, and expertise in modern languages and cloud tooling.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of progressive software engineering experience
• At least 5+ years in a Software Architect role
• Proven track record across diverse tech stacks and cloud platforms

Responsibilities

• Architect, build, and optimize enterprise-grade services and high-throughput backend APIs.
• Design architectures that integrate cloud platforms with real-time telemetry systems.
• Own end-to-end cloud infrastructure design using Azure and/or AWS; drive IaC and containers (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Lead a cross-functional engineering team; mentor engineers and collaborate with propulsion teams.
• Develop and evolve microservices, serverless architectures, and secure auth (SSO/IAM).
