Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Systems Administrator in Austin to manage Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Microsoft 365 within a growing MS environment. The role involves configuring, securing, and supporting on‑prem and cloud workloads while assisting with the migration to Azure.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience building servers and VMs, plus strong scripting skills and a customer‑focused mindset to support employees in a fast‑paced setting.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of systems administration experience in a Microsoft environment.
• Hands-on experience building and administering Windows servers.
• Experience building and configuring virtual machines in VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Microsoft 365.
• Experience with Azure and hybrid environments; on-prem to Azure migration experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• PowerShell scripting and automation experience preferred.
• Microsoft Azure or Microsoft 365 certifications preferred; Network+ or Security+ a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and Microsoft 365.
• Manage user accounts, mailboxes, licensing, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
• Ensure systems are configuredproperly and follow security best practices.
• Help evaluate, plan, and support the migration of on‑premises workloads to Azure.
• Manage Azure virtual machines, networking, Entra ID, and hybrid connectivity.
• Build, configure, and maintain virtual machines using VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Support networking infrastructure, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and firewalls.
• Manage patching, system monitoring, vulnerability remediation, and troubleshooting.
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support, including occasional after‑hours emergencies.
• Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, and procedures.
• Support disaster recovery, audits, and data protection requirements.
• Participate in infrastructure projects and technology evaluations.
