Job summary

TEKsystems' client is seeking a Systems Administrator / Systems Engineer to join their Infrastructure team on a 6-month contract basis, focusing on migrating from on-premises to Azure. The role demands strong Windows systems administration, AD, and Azure expertise, plus experience with M365 and hybrid cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will split time between project work and operational support, handling escalations and documentation while helping modernize and scale the infrastructure in

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Systems Administration experience.
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to independently research and resolve unfamiliar technical issues.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud environments preferred.
• Experience with Tanium is highly desired.
• Experience with VMware, Intune, and Zscaler is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Administer Windows Server environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Exchange.
• Support Microsoft 365 and Azure environments.
• Assist with Azure cloud migration initiatives and Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Manage endpoint technologies including Intune and security platforms.
• Support LAN/WAN networking, VLANs, routing, switching, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for infrastructure and application issues.
• Support Ubiquiti/UniFi network infrastructure.
• Assist with Zscaler administration and security initiatives.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Participate in infrastructure modernization and scalability projects.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex support issues.
