Job summary

IREN is seeking an Azure DevOps Lead Engineer to own the technical direction, standards, and delivery of the Azure platform and DevOps practice. This hands-on leadership role sets architecture and governance, mentors engineers, and ensures secure-by-design, audit-ready, and cost-efficient operations across enterprise and data center environments.

You will partner with Cybersecurity and Compliance, oversee pipelines in Azure DevOps and GitHub, and guide modernization while navigating time zones

Qualifications

• 7+ years in DevOps, platform or cloud engineering.
• 4+ years designing and operating Microsoft Azure environments at enterprise scale.
• Proven experience mentoring engineers and owning technical delivery for a team.
• Infrastructure-as-code standards and reusable modules in IaC tooling.
• Strong scripting in PowerShell and Python; familiarity with Microsoft Graph and Azure REST APIs.
• Experience in regulated environments with SOX/ISO 27001 audit evidence.
• Observability and SRE practices; security policy governance.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the Azure / M365 platform architecture and governance.
• Lead, mentor, and develop DevOps engineers in Azure best practices.
• Enforce IaC standards, modules, and pipeline patterns across Azure DevOps and GitHub.
• Own platform reliability including SLOs, monitoring, and incident management.
• Design identity, network and policy controls with Cybersecurity input.
• Drive security-by-design and compliance automation with audit evidence.
• Engage with vendors and leadership to communicate status and risks.
• Provide senior escalation for complex platform incidents and post-incident reviews.
