Qualifications

• Hands-on engineer with strong experience in cloud operations, automation, production support, and platform reliability.
• Microsoft Azure is the primary cloud platform for this role; AWS experience is a plus but not core.
• Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud platforms using Terraform, Azure-native services, AKS, and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Infrastructure & DevOps Engineer to support, automate, and operate mission-critical cloud infrastructure and applications within Microsoft Azure environments. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Azure-native services, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), and Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with strong experience in cloud operations, automation, production support, and platform reliability. This individual will work closely with development, architecture, security, and operations teams to deliver highly available, secure, and resilient services while continuously improving automation, observability, and operational excellence.

This position is well suited for someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, improving platform reliability, and driving DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices across the organization. Microsoft Azure is the primary cloud platform for this role; AWS experience is considered a preferred, good-to-have skill rather than a primary requirement.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure & Infrastructure as Code

• Design, deploy, and maintain Azure cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code principles.
• Manage Azure subscriptions, resource groups, networking, storage, compute, security, and platform services.
• Implement and maintain Azure governance standards, including RBAC, Azure Policy, tagging strategies, and cost management practices.
• Support cloud modernization, migration, and platform standardization initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and operational processes.
• Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to cloud platform design decisions.

DevOps & CI/CD Automation

• Design, implement, and maintain Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
• Develop reusable deployment frameworks and automation patterns using YAML pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
• Integrate automated testing, security scanning, compliance validation, and deployment approvals into delivery pipelines.
• Support application release management and deployment troubleshooting activities.
• Continuously improve deployment reliability, speed, and operational efficiency.
• Evaluate and apply AI-assisted tools to improve automation, documentation, troubleshooting, incident analysis, and operational efficiency.

Kubernetes & Container Platforms

• Deploy, manage, and support Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) environments.
• Troubleshoot containerized applications and Kubernetes platform issues.
• Develop deployment and configuration standards for containerized workloads.
• Manage Azure Container Registry (ACR) integrations and image lifecycle practices.
• Assist development teams with containerization strategies and Kubernetes best practices.
• Implement high availability, scalability, and resilience patterns within AKS environments.

Monitoring, Observability & Reliability Engineering

• Monitor and support production environments using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, CheckMK, Grafana, Prometheus, and related observability platforms.
• Proactively identify system health, performance, capacity, and availability concerns.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents and service disruptions.
• Participate in incident response, major incident management, and root cause analysis activities.
• Drive improvements in reliability, resilience, and operational maturity through SRE practices.
