Job summary

Oddball is seeking a Cloud Data Architect to own and modernize a secure, enterprise-scale data and analytics platform serving VA users. The role centers on Azure-centric cloud architecture, Databricks data engineering, and enabling AI/ML workloads.

You will collaborate with engineers, analysts, and government stakeholders to deliver scalable data products while adhering to federal standards and ensuring governance and security across a multi-cloud stack. This is a fully remote position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in a relevant field.
• Experience designing enterprise cloud data architectures.
• Experience with Azure Databricks and multi-cloud data platforms.
• Familiarity with federal data standards (FISMA, NIST 800-53).

Responsibilities

• Own cloud data architecture across a multi-cloud environment with a primary focus on Azure and Azure Databricks.
• Lead data architecture modernization efforts including migration strategy, data modeling, and platform engineering.
• Design and implement governance, security, and compliance strategies for a platform handling sensitive Veteran data.
• Enable data science and AI/ML capabilities on the platform including model deployment infrastructure and data pipelines.
• Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and VA stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and consumable data products.
• Support data ingestion, curation, and interoperability across disparate VA source systems.
• Build and maintain technical architecture documentation, security strategies, and compliance artifacts.
