Job summary

ITAC Solutions, LLC seeks a Mid-Level Azure Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain a modern Azure environment. You’ll support migrations, automation, security, and day-to-day operations across teams.

This contract-to-hire opportunity offers hybrid flexibility in Birmingham, AL, with exposure to Azure compute, storage, networking, identity management, and enterprise infrastructure while strengthening cloud security and governance.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of IT infrastructure, cloud engineering, systems administration, or related technical discipline.
• 2+ years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience in an enterprise environment.
• Working knowledge of Azure compute, storage, networking, identity, monitoring, backup, and security services.
• Experience administering Windows Server and/or Linux environments.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, firewalls, load balancing, subnets, and hybrid connectivity.
• Production experience with Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, CI/CD pipelines, and release management.
• Scripting or automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Python, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of cloud security principles, least-privilege access, identity management, and operational controls.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain Microsoft Azure infrastructure, including VMs, VNets, storage, App Services, Azure SQL, and related services.
• Support cloud migration initiatives from assessment through post-migration support.
• Implement secure Azure configurations including RBAC, IAM, NSGs, private endpoints, and key management.
• Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code with Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, Azure CLI, and PowerShell.
• Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, capacity, and cost using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, alerts, and dashboards.
• Support enterprise infrastructure initiatives involving Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and security remediation.
• Participate in change management, incident response, maintenance windows, and after-hours support as needed.
• Document infrastructure, configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.

Our client is looking for a Mid-Level Azure Cloud Engineer to help design and maintain a modern cloud environment while supporting migration initiatives, infrastructure automation, security, and day‑to‑day operations.

This is a contract‑to‑hire opportunity with a growing organization where you'll work across cloud infrastructure, systems, networking, security, and application teams.

Compensation

• $90,000 – $110,000base salary (based on experience)

• Implement secure Azure configurations including RBAC, identity and access management, network security groups, private endpoints, and key management.
• Build and maintain infrastructure‑as‑code solutions using tools such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, Azure CLI, and PowerShell.
• Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, capacity, and cost using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, alerts, and dashboards.
• Support enterprise infrastructure initiatives involving Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and security remediation.
• Participate in change management, incident response, maintenance windows, and occasional on‑call support.
