Job summary

Motion Recruitment is seeking a senior IT Cloud Architect to lead cloud strategy and governance within its IT organization, focusing on Azure architecture, migrations, and setting standards for engineering teams.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with leadership, ensure security and compliance with NIST/CMMC, and advance IaC practices to deliver scalable, well-documented cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of IT architecture experience with a focus on cloud computing.
• Deep Azure expertise including Active Directory, cloud security and governance.
• Leads cloud migration projects from assessment to execution and optimization.
• Strong networking, security, virtualization, and storage knowledge in cloud contexts.
• Hands-on with IaC tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
• Familiar with DevOps, CI/CD integration and IT security frameworks (NIST 800-171, CMMC, SOC-2).
• Excellent communication and analytical skills; able to translate tech to varied audiences.
• Bachelor's degree; Master's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, administer, and govern Microsoft Azure architecture.
• Enforce cloud security standards and policy compliance.
• Provide Infrastructure as Code implementation using Terraform or equivalent.
• Manage Active Directory and identity governance.
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines and collaborate with DevOps teams.
