Job summary

SCAN Health Insurance seeks a Senior Staff Software Engineer to design scalable, secure architecture during our Azure Cloud and microservices transition, coordinating with Product, System Architects, and DevOps teams.

The role drives governance, roadmaps, FinOps practices, and robust CI/CD, while mentoring teams and ensuring performance, security, and reliability across our IT portfolio. Applicants should bring 10+ years of enterprise architecture experience and a collaborative leadership style.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Certifications in architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF) and cloud platforms (AWS Solutions Architect, Azure Architect) are preferred
DevOps certifications (e.g., Azure DevOps Engineer Expert)
Extensive experience designing and implementing technical solutions for complex distributed systems.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in enterprise architecture or related roles.
Proven expertise in Azure Cloud services, microservices architecture, DevOps, and enterprise application and data integration.
Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and monitoring tools.
Solid understanding of FinOps and cost optimization practices.
Experience in managing Architecture Review Boards and setting technology standards.
Strong understanding of solution and enterprise architecture principles, design patterns, and best practices.
Expertise in system integration, cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), microservices architecture, and APIs.
Knowledge of iPaaS platforms such as MuleSoft or Boomi and experience delivering integrations across cloud/SaaS/on-premises.
Proficiency in programming languages (Java/.NET/Python) and DevOps tooling.
Familiarity with CI/CD, IaC, and monitoring.
Knowledge of databases, data architecture, and data modeling.
Excellent collaboration and leadership skills; Agile & SAFe knowledge.

Responsibilities

Lead Azure cloud transition and design scalable cloud architecture.
Develop and manage a technology roadmap outlining future IT initiatives.
Establish governance, architecture reviews, and standards across solutions.
Collaborate with Product Management and System Architects to define solution context.
Ensure solutions meet performance, reliability, and security requirements.
Provide technical leadership for vendor evaluations and RFP processes.
Mentor Agile teams within the ART and Solution Train.
Define and communicate architecture decisions to stakeholders.
