Job summary

Sullivan Brothers Family of Companies in Houston, TX is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to manage cloud, server and network infrastructure with emphasis on Microsoft 365 and Azure. You will support multiple affiliated companies and provide Tier 2/3 escalation for Help Desk.

The role requires hands-on administration of on‑premises and cloud environments, plus security monitoring and disaster recovery planning. This is an in‑office position with occasional travel to affiliates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in MIS/CS/CE or related field.
• 5+ years of systems administration experience including Microsoft 365 and Azure in a multi-user environment.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Intune and Exchange Online; familiarity with Defender XDR and Darktrace.
• Experience administering SaaS platforms such as Smartsheet and monday.com.
• Working knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, Hyper-V, Fortinet and Ubiquiti networks.
• Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation.
• Strong communication, troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams and licensing.
• Handle Azure resources, cost control, security improvements and hybrid identity.
• Administer on‑premises infrastructure (AD, Windows Server, Hyper‑V) and network devices including Fortinet and Ubiquiti.
• Serve as Tier 2/3 escalation for Help Desk; monitor tickets and resolve complex issues.
• Assist with security monitoring using Defender and Darktrace; support vulnerability remediation.
• Document runbooks, diagrams and procedures; ensure change management and DR readiness.
