Job summary

FM Industries is seeking an AZ Mechanical Inspector I for the 2nd shift in Phoenix, AZ. You will perform precision mechanical inspections of machined parts and incoming materials to verify conformance to specifications, using calibrated measurement tools and visual checks.

The role requires reading basic blueprints, shop math, and collecting data for FAI and FIR reports. 0-2 years' experience in in-process and final inspection in machining, automotive, or aerospace is preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years’ experience performing in-process and final inspection preferably in a machining, automotive or aerospace business
• Basic knowledge of GD&T preferred
• CMM operation experience preferred
• Ability to correctly use and interpret basic measuring tools including weight gauge, micrometer, caliper scale (linear), gauge blocks, thread gauges, and comparative standards

Responsibilities

• Inspect first off parts from manufacturing work centers
• Collect measurement data for use in First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
• Collect and provide data required for critical part Final Inspection Reports (FIRs)

Regular Full-Time Technical Phoenix, AZ, US

Location: 2635 E. Magnolia Street, Phoenix, AZ

Schedule: 2nd shift - 4:00pm-2:00am

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible for performing precision mechanical inspection of machined parts and incoming materials to verify compliance to specification. Ensuring conformance requirements using calibrated measuring equipment and visual inspection. Interpreting customer drawings and specifications, and referencing company work instructions and process travelers.

• Basic blueprint reading & shop math (Trigonometry)
• Inspect first off parts from manufacturing work centers
• Collect measurement data for use in First Article Inspection (FAI) reports
• Collect and provide data required for critical part Final Inspection Reports (FIRs)
