Job summary

FM Industries seeks an AZ Mechanical Inspector II to perform precision mechanical inspection of machined parts and materials on the 1st shift in Phoenix, AZ. You will read blueprints, apply GD&T, and ensure conformity through calibrated tools.

Responsibilities include in-process and final inspections, data collection for FIRs/DMRs, and collaboration with the Inspection Team Leader and Plant Quality Manager. Some off-hours may be required based on demand.

Qualifications

2-5 years’ experience performing in-process and final inspection in machining, automotive or aerospace environments.
Thorough knowledge of GD&T and inspection standards.
Ability to use basic measuring tools and interpret specifications.
Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Perform precision mechanical inspection of machined parts and incoming materials to verify compliance to specifications.
Interpret customer drawings and specifications, and reference company work instructions and process travelers.
Inspect first piece parts from manufacturing work centers and in-process parts.
Complete Discrepant Material Reports (DMR) and FIRs as required.
Inspect incoming purchased parts for conformance to specifications and outgoing material packaging.
Maintain and file required inspection reports, logs, and data.
