Job summary

FM Industries in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an AZ Mechanical Inspector I to perform precision inspection of machined parts and incoming materials, verifying conformance to specifications using calibrated measuring equipment and visual inspection.

Responsibilities include reading basic blueprints, inspecting first-off parts, collecting measurement data for First Article Inspection and Final Inspection Reports, and supporting control of quality on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years’ experience performing in-process and final inspection preferably in a machining, automotive or aerospace business
• Basic knowledge of GD&T preferred
• CMM operation experience preferred
• Ability to correctly use and interpret basic measuring tools including weight gauge, micrometer, caliper scale (linear), gauge blocks, thread gauges, and comparative standards

• Inspect first off parts from manufacturing work centers
• Collect measurement data for use in First Article Inspection (FAI) reports

Location: 2635 E. Magnolia Street, Phoenix, AZ

Shifts:

Mon-Thur 5AM-3:30PM / 4PM-2:30AM

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Responsible forperforming precision mechanical inspection of machined parts and incoming materials to verify compliance to specification. Ensuring conformance requirements using calibrated measuring equipment and visual inspection. Interpreting customer drawings and specifications, and reference company work instructions and process travelers.
