Job summary

Elsevier is seeking an AWS Systems Engineer III to support our cloud infrastructure, automation, and deployment efforts. The role partners with product and engineering teams to troubleshoot, automate, and improve live products within the Nursing Health Education domain.

The team ensures scalable AWS infrastructure and collaborates across projects to implement efficient, resilient architectures. Strong Linux, Terraform, Kubernetes, and CI/CD skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, automation, or DevOps tasks.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and a proactive attitude toward automation.
  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
  • Scripting skills in Python or Go.
  • Knowledge of container orchestration tools like Kubernetes, Helm, or ArgoCD.
  • Proactive approach to automating repetitive tasks and operational workflows.
  • Proficiency with Linux operating systems and CI tools like GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting cloud infrastructure deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting in AWS.
  • Assisting in automating operational tasks and workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Contributing to scalable, resilient application architectures.
  • Supporting documentation and operational procedures to ensure best practices.
  • Collaborating with team members on ongoing projects and initiatives.
  • Supporting process improvements and automation efforts.
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure and deployment issues, escalating as needed.
