Job summary

Elsevier in the United States is seeking an AWS Systems Engineer III to support cloud infrastructure, automation, and operational tasks. You will work with product and engineering teams to deploy, troubleshoot, and automate live services, contributing to process improvements.

This role supports an AWS-based environment across Nurssing Health Education products, helps scale applications, and participates in IaC, CI/CD, and container orchestration using Kubernetes, Helm, and ArgoCD.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting cloud infrastructure, automation, or DevOps tasks.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS). foundational understanding of Cloud and DevOps tools and a proactive attitude toward operational support and automation.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Scripting skills in Python or Go.
• Knowledge of container orchestration tools like Kubernetes, Helm, or ArgoCD.
• Proactive approach to automating repetitive tasks and operational workflows.
• Proficiency with Linux operating systems, including system administration, command-line tools, and troubleshooting.
• Proficiency with continuous integration tools like Github Actions.

Responsibilities

• Supporting cloud infrastructure deployment, maintenance, and troubleshooting in AWS.
• Assisting in automating operational tasks and workflows to improve efficiency.
• Contributing to scalable, resilient application architectures.
• Supporting documentation and operational procedures to ensure best practices.
• Collaborate with team members to support ongoing projects and initiatives.
• Supporting process improvements and automation efforts.
• Troubleshooting infrastructure and deployment issues, escalating as needed.
