Job summary

Spectraforce Technologies is seeking a highly technical AWS FinOps Engineer to optimize, automate, and scale cloud financial operations. This 6-month hybrid role sits across engineering, finance, and data to build tooling, pipelines, and insights that improve cost efficiency.

You will design cost monitoring and allocation solutions, ingest billing data, develop dashboards in AWS QuickSight, and implement best practices for cost governance and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field required.
• 3–6+ years of experience in cloud engineering, DevOps, FinOps, or related technical role.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Cost Explorer, CUR).
• Proven experience building dashboards and visualizations using AWS QuickSight.
• Experience with AWS CUR and billing data sets.
• Proficiency in Python or Java; strong SQL skills with large datasets.
• Experience building ETL/data pipelines and data lakes/warehouses.
• Understanding of cloud cost drivers and optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud cost monitoring, allocation, and optimization solutions.
• Develop automated pipelines to ingest, transform, and analyze cloud billing and usage data.
• Create and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions using AWS QuickSight.
• Partner with engineering teams to implement cost-efficient architectures and FinOps best practices.
• Identify and implement automated cost optimization strategies (rightsizing, scheduling, savings plans, spot usage).
• Build and maintain tagging strategies and cost allocation frameworks.
• Integrate cost data into internal systems and workflows (data lakes, BI platforms, finance systems).
• Support forecasting, anomaly detection, and cost governance through engineering solutions.
• Continuously improve tooling, observability, and reporting for cloud financial operations.
