Job summary

Hyper Solutions is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design and operate the AWS cloud infrastructure, release pipelines, and on-call processes. You will own incident response and partner with Engineering, Security, and Quality to codify governance.

The role demands deep AWS experience with Terraform, CI/CD, and strong reliability discipline, aligning with US business hours and an on-site-friendly setup in Richmond, VA.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, site reliability, platform, or infrastructure engineering.
• Terraform at scale with thoughtful state layout and blast radius.
• Deep AWS IAM, Organizations, SCPs, VPC design, ECS, and RDS.
• CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and OIDC.
• Experience owning an incident end to end, including severity under pressure.
• Ability to write operational policy and defend it in a documented review process.
• Working hours with substantial overlap with a US business-hours coverage window.

Responsibilities

• Design and operate the on-call rotation.
• Own the incident response process with triage, severity, escalation, and post-incident reviews.
• Own the release pipeline from merge to production, including rollbacks.
• Architect, operate, and evolve AWS cloud infrastructure and Terraform.
• Shape how AWS environments are structured, isolated, and governed as the product portfolio grows.
• Author and maintain operational policy covering on-call, incident response, and release management.
• Extend infrastructure-as-code and CD practices for auditable changes.
• Improve detection, routing, and response to operational problems and tooling investments.
• Collaborate with product engineering for new workloads landing natively in cloud.
• Partner with Security and Quality on architecture and standards.
• Review infrastructure and pipeline changes contributed by others.
• Maintain runbooks and escalation paths.
