Job summary

TechDigital Group is seeking an AWS Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Infrastructure Automation Team within Public Cloud. You will drive deployment of cloud and hybrid applications, collaborate with Security, Networking, Database and Unix teams, and provide leadership across engineering and operations.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in AWS, strong Python and IaC skills, and hands-on experience with CI/CD workflows, cloud cost governance, and on-call incident support.

Qualifications

AWS Senior DevOps Engineer

This resource will be part of our growing Infrastructure Automation Team within Public Cloud. This role will be key in working with various infrastructure teams (Security, Networking, Database, Unix) to develop, deploy and support cloud and hybrid applications. Due to the collaborative nature of the role, it will be important that this resource be senior in both DevOps / AWS / technical skills and interpersonal skills. Candidate should have strong communication, teamwork, customer service and leadership skills to partner with broader global technology engineering, information security and line of business teams.

Responsibilities

• Use AWS to deploy highly available, scalable, and secure applications.
• Assist in architecting, designing, and implementing cloud-based IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions.
• Design, develop and implement automation to support continuous delivery and continuous integration solutions.
• Provide consulting and help build pipelines for application teams integrating cloud services into their application.
• Design and develop platform engineering and automation for governing usage of cloud services and application autonomy.
• Design and implement workflows to automate the release and upgrade process for applications in Development, Test and Production environments.
• Collaborate with the Cloud Security and Identity Teams on the administration and engineering of Role-Based Access Controls and processes.
• Help design and develop Governance of cloud infrastructure, including both technical controls and cost governance structures.
• Create and update support documentation and standards.
• Develop automated methodologies for deployment activities, configuration management, supporting systems and business processes.
• Use Jira to track and manage all work through the development life cycle.
• Proactively analyze and contribute improvements to support our deployment processes.
• Investigate and contribute to solving various issues in production environments.
• Drive compliance and security efforts related to systems managed by the team.
• Adhere to quality standards, regulatory requirements and company policies.
• Ensure positive customer experience and CSAT through First Call Resolution and minimum rejected resolutions / Reopen Cases.
• Participate or contribute on EN business in creation of proposals to drive Service improvement plans.
• Independently resolve tickets and ensure that the agreed SLA of ticket volume and time are met for the team.
• Provide support for on-call escalations / L3 level support and incident & problem management.
• Work on value adding activities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience in AWS.
• AWS professional and/or specialty certification, such as Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer.
• Experience in implementing Secure Architectures for private and/or public internet facing systems.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, infrastructure, and best practices, including K8S, Containers, Serverless, Microservices.
• Strong understanding of IaC, CI/CD Pipelines, Terraform, CloudFormation, Bitbucket, Bamboo, etc.
• Strong understanding of networking and internet protocols and distributed systems.
• Experience designing and developing resilient, highly available and scalable systems for the cloud.
• Experience in cloud cost optimization and budget management.
• Proficiency in Python, AWS CLI.
• Working knowledge of Shared Responsibility models.
• Prior experience building out CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience working in Agile teams, and related tools (Jira, Confluence, etc).
• Background in software development a plus.
• Understanding of the financial markets a plus.
• Azure experience a plus.
• BA or BS in any STEM or related field. Masters a plus.
