Job summary

Entech in Malvern, PA seeks an experienced AWS Developer to join a hybrid team focusing on serverless data services and backend integration. You will translate specs into code, build Lambda/Step Functions workflows, and optimize backend performance.

You will collaborate with frontend teams and ensure security, docs, and production readiness while mentoring less-experienced staff and supporting production initiatives.

Qualifications

• AWS cloud services including Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, S3, IAM, CloudFormation
• Strong TypeScript and Python development experience
• Angular and front-end development experience, SQL and database design
• API development, system integration, and backend architecture
• Source control and CI/CD practices using GitHub, Jira, Confluence
• Experience with ETL, data pipelines and cloud-native data processing
• Knowledge of workflow automation and process improvement methodologies
• AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification or higher and Databricks experience are a plus

Entech is hiring an AWS Developer for a financial services client. This is a hybrid role that involves working onsite in Malvern, Pennsylvania (3 days per week).

Job Description

A dedicated AWS developer. Experienced with AWS serverless data services—Lambda, Glue, and Step Functions.

Primary focus will be AWS functionality, especially the creation of step functions and Glue jobs.

• Translates technical specifications into code for complex new or enhancement projects for internal clients. Writes programs, develops code, tests artifacts, and produces reports.
• Lead backend system optimization efforts, ensuring high performance, scalability, and responsiveness under varying workloads. Spearhead the integration of multiple data sources, APIs, and services, streamlining data flow and improving overall system efficiency.
• Oversee the creation and upkeep of detailed backend documentation, helping cross-functional teams understand architecture and logic. Advocate and implement best practices for security, data protection, and backend resilience, aligning with enterprise-grade standards.
• Collaborate with front-end teams to design backend interfaces that support seamless and intuitive user experiences. Elevates code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule.
• Provides follow up production support. Submits change control requests and documents. Thoroughly understands software development methodology. Thoroughly understands development architecture standards. Trains and mentors staff with less experience.
• Resolves elevated issues. Participates in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues. Explains technical considerations at related meetings, including those with internal clients. Performs systems analysis activities. Thoroughly understands client business functions and technology needs. Has a broad understanding of Vanguard's technologies, tools, and applications, including those that interface with business area and systems.
• Spearhead the integration of multiple data sources, APIs, and services, streamlining data flow and improving overall system efficiency.
• Oversee the creation and upkeep of detailed backend documentation, helping cross-functional teams understand architecture and logic.
• Advocate and implement best practices for security, data protection, and backend resilience, aligning with enterprise-grade standards.

Qualification (3-5 minimum years required)

• Must have AWS cloud services including Lambda, Step Functions, Glue, S3, IAM, CloudFormation, and serverless architectures Strong TypeScript and Pythondevelopment experience
• Basic Angular and front-end development experience SQL development and database design experience API development, system integration, and backend architecture
• Source control and CI/CD practices using GitHub Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and production support skills Experience working in Agile environments using Jira and Confluence
• Experience with ETL, data pipelines, and cloud-native data processing solutions
• Knowledge of workflow automation and process improvement methodologies
• (*Not required – but an extra plus - AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification or higher Oracle FCCS experience Databricks experience (extra plus)
