Job summary

Overture Partners in Quincy, MA is seeking an experienced Senior AWS Developer to design, develop, and modernize critical enterprise healthcare applications, with emphasis on serverless AWS, Python, React, and PostgreSQL. You will build secure, scalable solutions, integrate REST/SOAP APIs, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver compliant, reliable software in a fast-paced environment.

This role requires independent troubleshooting, hands-on coding, and a commitment to secure development

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience including cloud app development, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • 3+ years building AWS serverless solutions with Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, Cognito, S3, CloudWatch, and IaC like CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK.
  • 4+ years of Python development for backend services.
  • 3+ years React development with hooks, ES6, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • 3+ years PostgreSQL RDS experience including design, SQL, optimization, and security.
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and OpenAPI/Swagger.
  • Strong Git, CI/CD, automated testing, Agile/Scrum, code reviews, and secure development practices.
  • Ability to design, develop, test, debug, document, and support the full software lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver secure, cloud-native applications enabling electronic document submission and integration with enterprise DMS.
  • Design serverless workflows and capture upload metadata for audit/compliance.
  • Develop user-facing interfaces and back-end services; ensure scalability and security.
  • Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders; communicate progress and risks.
  • Architect and implement serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, S3, Cognito, CloudWatch.
  • Develop backend services using Python and follow secure coding practices.
  • Build responsive React interfaces with modern patterns and accessibility.
  • Design PostgreSQL RDS structures, queries, and data security.
  • Create CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and IaC.
  • Produce architecture, deployment, and operations documentation.
  • Follow security best practices and organizational policies.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior AWS Developer to support the design, development, and modernization of critical enterprise healthcare applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep AWS serverless expertise, strong Python and React development skills, and hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, APIs, document processing, and cloud-native architectures. Candidates must be able to work independently, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and deliver secure, scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Must Haves
  • 5+ years of hands-on AWS experience, including cloud application development, deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • 3+ years building AWS serverless solutions using Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, Cognito, S3, CloudWatch, and Infrastructure as Code technologies such as CloudFormation, Terraform, or CDK.
  • 4+ years of Python development for backend services and application components.
  • 3+ years of professional React development, including modern hooks, functional components, state management, JavaScript ES6+, HTML5, and CSS3.
  • 3+ years working with PostgreSQL RDS, including database design, complex SQL development, optimization, performance tuning, connection management, and security.
  • Experience developing and integrating REST/SOAP APIs, with knowledge of OpenAPI/Swagger and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Strong experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, Agile/Scrum, code reviews, and secure software development practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to design, develop, test, debug, document, and support applications across the full software development life cycle.
What the Client Needs You to Do

The successful candidate will help deliver a secure, cloud-native application that enables users to submit documents electronically and supports reliable transfer into an enterprise document management environment. The role will involve designing serverless workflows, capturing upload metadata for audit and compliance purposes, developing user-facing interfaces, integrating backend services, and ensuring the solution is scalable, maintainable, and secure. You will collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions and communicate progress, technical decisions, and risks effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze requirements and design, develop, debug, test, deploy, and maintain critical enterprise applications.
  • Architect and implement serverless solutions using AWS Lambda, Step Functions, API Gateway, S3, Cognito, and CloudWatch.
  • Develop backend services and automation using Python, following secure and maintainable coding practices.
  • Build responsive React interfaces using modern development patterns, state management approaches, and accessibility standards.
  • Design and optimize PostgreSQL RDS structures, SQL queries, views, and database operations supporting application integrations.
  • Implement secure document-upload workflows, including file validation, metadata capture, binary data processing, encoding, and document conversion.
  • Integrate applications with REST and SOAP services and enterprise document management platforms.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code and automated CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
  • Produce technical architecture, design, deployment, release, and operational documentation throughout the development life cycle.
  • Apply microservices, containerization, API design, authentication, authorization, and cloud security best practices.
  • Create automated tests and support test-driven development, code reviews, debugging, and quality assurance activities.
  • Maintain source code and branching strategies using Git and established change-control practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical solutions, coordinate delivery activities, and communicate progress to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot existing applications and quickly develop an understanding of established codebases, integrations, and system dependencies.
  • Follow organizational technology policies, security standards, development practices, and delivery procedures.
