Job summary

Entech is seeking a Big Data Architect for a financial client services project. The role is hybrid, onsite in Malvern, PA or Charlotte, NC, and focuses on building secure, scalable data ecosystems for portfolios, transactions, and analytics.

The candidate will lead design of data pipelines and data lakes using Spark, Kafka, Hive, and Databricks, with strong AWS expertise and deep data modeling skills. A CS/Math-related degree is required.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in data engineering or enterprise architecture, with financial services or banking background.
• Strong knowledge of SQL, Python, Scala or Java.
• Hands-on with Spark, Kafka, Hive or Databricks.
• Mastery of data modeling, MDM, and metadata lineage.
• Extensive AWS experience.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS, applied mathematics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable data pipelines, data lakes, and warehouses using distributed tools like Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.
• Ensure compliance, security, and data governance across financial data systems.
• Integrate external and internal financial data streams for reporting and risk analysis.
• Manage multi-terabyte or petabyte datasets on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, or Snowflake.
• Lead cross-team efforts to translate business needs into data models and data flows.

A Big Data Architect for financial client services designs and oversees massive, secure, and compliant data systems that process client financial portfolios, transactions, and analytics

Key Responsibilities

• Design Big Data Systems: Build scalable data pipelines, data lakes, and warehouses using distributed tools like Spark, Hadoop, and Kafka.
• Ensure Compliance and Security: Enforce strict financial regulations, data governance, and privacy standards (such as GDPR, SEC, or PCI-DSS).
• Client Data Integration: Integrate external and internal financial data streams for client reporting, risk analysis, and wealth management platforms.
• Cloud Infrastructure: Manage multi-terabyte or petabyte datasets on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, or Snowflake.
• Cross-Team Leadership: Translate complex business needs from financial stakeholders into technical database models and data flows.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: 15+ years in data engineering or enterprise architecture, with specific background in financial services or banking.
• Technical Stack: Advanced SQL, Python, Scala, or Java.
• Big Data Frameworks: Hands-on expertise with Apache Spark, Kafka, Hive, or Databricks.
• Data Modeling: Mastery of dimensional modeling, master data management (MDM), and metadata lineage tracking.
• Must have Strong AWS experience
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
