Job summary

MSI Defense Solutions seeks a highly skilled AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to inspect welded assemblies, verify paperwork, and ensure adherence to AWS codes and customer requirements in Mooresville, NC. The role requires collaboration with Quality, Engineering, Production, and suppliers, with travel limited to site needs.

The CWI will review WPS/PQR/WPQ records, support audit readiness, and maintain complete, accurate quality documentation in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold AWS CWI certification.
• Minimum 5 years welding inspection experience.
• Strong knowledge of AWS welding codes and customer requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspections of welded assemblies and components as per drawings and AWS codes.
• Verify welding documentation, WPS/PQR/WPQ and related records for compliance.
• Review inspection results and maintain traceable quality records.
• Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and disposition of nonconforming welds.
• Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure quality objectives.
