Piper Companies seeks a Secret Cloud Security Engineer - AWS to join a growing tech and cloud services organization in Raleigh, NC. The role requires deep AWS security expertise, compliance experience, and a focus on secure, resilient cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities include configuring secure AWS environments, validating STIG/CIS/NIST compliance, and automating security workflows while collaborating with DevOps, IT, and Compliance teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience securing AWS environments following industry standards.
• Proven track record implementing STIGs, CIS benchmarks, and NIST 800-53 controls.
• Experience identifying security gaps, remediation workflows, and ticket management.
• Ability to automate security workflows using cloud-native tools and scripting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure AWS environments are securely configured per industry best practices.
• Validate compliance with STIGs and CIS benchmarks across cloud infrastructure.
• Monitor and assess environments for alignment with NIST 800-53 controls.
• Identify security gaps and manage remediation tickets.
• Lead meetings with stakeholders to review findings and configurations.
• Collaborate with DevOps, IT, and Compliance teams for secure cloud operations.
• Automate security workflows using Python, Terraform, and CloudFormation.
• Maintain documentation of security policies and configurations.
• Stay current with AWS security developments and emerging threats.
